Our regional conference will be held Saturday, April 30 in Baltimore, MD., during the one-year anniversary of Freddie Gray’s disturbing and untimely death.

Titled One Year After Freddie Gray: Navigating Social Justice in Journalism, the regional is expected to be one of the largest and most significant conferences in memory. It will focus on three things: community engagement, digital training and media coaching — building upon the skills of journalists, public relations professionals, politicians, community leaders and students.

Location of Workshops: Morgan State University School of Global Journalism and Communication 1700 East Cold Spring Lane Baltimore, Md.

In order for us to have a fulfilling and successful conference, NABJ Region I needs all of its chapters in Baltimore – engaged and learning.

There will be an attendance challenge. The professional and student chapters with the largest numbers of attendees at the conference will receive funds toward respective scholarship funds. $1,000 for professional chapter; $500 for student chapter.

For registration click here, and see announcements on the Region I Facebook page for details or nabjbmore16.com. We will be using the hashtag ‪#‎NABJBaltimore16‬.
