The New York Association of Black Journalists is excited to bring back our media awards competition to honor the best and brightest in New York journalism.
ABOUT THE CONTEST
We aim to recognize exemplary coverage of people or issues in the African/African American Diaspora. The competition is open to all professional (staff and freelance) journalists in print, broadcast or online news media. Only work originally published or broadcast in 2017 is eligible.
Entries are being accepted from now until August 31, 2018.
NEWSPAPER: Spot/General News, General Feature, Public Affairs, and Commentary
TELEVISION: Spot/General News, General Feature, Public Affairs, and Documentary
RADIO: Spot/General News, Public Affairs, General Feature, and Sports
ONLINE MEDIA: Spot/General News, General Feature, Investigative, and Blog Commentary
MAGAZINE: General Feature, Investigative, Commentary, and International
This year, our contest submission process will be done entirely online through the Better Newspaper Contest service. To enter the contest, sign up at BNC website. After signing up with BNC you will receive further instructions to take you to our contest page titled “2018 NYABJ Media Awards.”

PAYING FOR ENTRIES
NYABJ members can submit up to two (2) entries for $50. Non-NYABJ members will pay $50 per entry.
