New
York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg
spoke with NYABJ members at NBC's
studios in Rockefeller Plaza in
March. It was his second meeting
of the year with black journalists.
These photographs were taken by
NYABJ member Darrell Hazelwood.
1. Weeks before state and city officials
complied, Mayor Bloomberg discussed
with the chapter his desire to take
control of the New York City Board
of Education -- while also sharing
his thoughts on police brutality
and the redevelopment of lower Manhattan.
NY1's Dominic Carter, the event's
moderator, is seated at the table
beside the mayor.
2. Gary Pierre-Pierre, publisher
of the Haitian Times newspaper and
NYABJ member, takes the microphone
to ask Mayor Bloomberg a question.
