The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) selected Natasha S. Alford, deputy editor and digital host at, as the Michael J. Feeney Emerging Journalist for 2018. Alford is a member of the New York Association of Black Journalists (NYABJ) and the late Feeney was once the chapter president. We send our deepest congratulations on this honor.

This is an award that recognizes a black print, broadcast, digital or photojournalist with less than five years of experience in the industry. Nominees, through their hard work and service, must display a commitment to NABJ’s goals of outstanding achievement and providing balanced coverage of the black community and society at large.

Alford will be honored at the NABJ Hall of Fame Luncheon during the NABJ Convention and Career Fair on Friday, Aug. 3 at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. Convention registration and awards tickets can be purchased here.
